Air France (IATA Airline Code – AF) operates around 40 airport lounges around the world. With a new design language introduced in its Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport Hub (IATA Airport Code – CDG), AF is on a path to renovating all its lounges in the next few years.
New York JFK International Airport (JFK) is an important airport for AF. It currently operates 4 flights from its hub in Paris to JFK with a mix of Boeing 777, Airbus A330 and A380. It was not surprising that the airline chosen this airport to be one of the firsts in its system to receive the new lounge treatment.
As usual, here is the quick facts for this ~9,700 sq ft lounge:
The JFK lounge was soft-opened on October 31, 2014 and inaugurated by Air France’s Chairman and CEO Frédéric Gagey on December 8, 2014.
“On our legendary New York-Paris route, our passengers are already enjoying our latest long-haul cabin classes which are gradually equipping our Boeing 777 and our superjumbo the A380. Today’s inauguration of this beautiful new lounge completes our offer for our Premium customers and is part of our strategy to upgrade all our products and service, both on the ground and on board” declared Frédéric Gagey, Chairman and CEO of Air France.
Unique to Air France Lounge
- Air France created a well being area offering free beauty treatments using products from Clarins.
- A separate private area for La Première passengers who will enjoy dishes signed by Joel Robuchon and served by a Maitre d’Hôtel.
Terminal 1 at JFK serves most of the international airlines. This refresh puts Air France in the top tier of the lounges used along with Lufthansa (LH). New food offerings and spa services will delight passengers.
