British Airways (BA) first trialled its food pre-ordering technology to First and Club World (business class) and World Traveller Plus (premium economy) passengers in Summer 2014 (See News – Pre-order Meals Now Available On British Airways). The successful run led to a three wave implementation at the end of 2014 for flights from its hub at Heathrow Airport located in London, United Kingdom (LHR). This service has now been extended for flights from its other London hub at Gatwick Airport (LGW).
Swiss International Air Lines has been known to push the culinary envelope previously with the Pop Up Restaurant Concept with Andreas Caminada (News -November 24, 2014) and the Taste of Switzerland Program (News – March 4, 2015). Starting on September 2, 2015, its long haul First Class passengers will experience new culinary adventures.

Al Safwa Lounge – Qatar Airways

After months of preparation, Qatar Airways (QR) will open its First Class Lounge named (Al Safwa) in Doha Hamad International Airport (DOH) at the end of April 2015.

Etihad Airways (IATA Airline Code – EY) announced that their new first class apartment featured on the new Airbus A380 just won its first design award at the Society of British and International Design (SBID) Awards held in 2014 in London.
