This week, we celebrate the 91st birthday of Finnair (IATA Airline Code – AY).  Headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, it was founded on November 1, 1923 and is part of the onewold Alliance. It is also the fifth oldest operational airline of the world by date (refer to link).  Follow the link for more vintage pictures of this airline.

The airline currently operates a fleet of 59 aircrafts comprising of Airbus A320 / 330 / 340 and Embraer 170 /190 and will be one of the first to fly the A350-900 in 2015.  It operates a hub in Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, Finland (IATA Airport Code – HEL) and flies to 73 destinations worldwide.
